Roman Orphanage Christmas Toys 2006

For the first time, we have got involved with a Star of Hope Project to send Christmas gifts (wrapped in Pringles tubes) to each child at the Roman Orphanage in Bulgaria. The original intention was to send 100 tubes, each containing presents and a message in the children's own language. The success of the appeal however, was such that, to date, 130 tubes have been prepared. Our contribution was to pay for the first 100 to be shipped over there - a donation of £200

This letter was received from the workers at the Star of Hope Charity on 2nd January 2007
Regarding the Pringles Tubes, yes, we received them all. It was quite difficult to release them from customs because the name of Star of Hope was not written on the parcels, but only our address. The customs officials gave us a hard time but, the outcome was good. We were able to give Pringles Tubes to all children from the Special Needs Boarding School in Dolno Draglishte, to some children from Strumjani Municipality and to children of prisoners from Sofia Prison. It is incredible how many places your Christmas gifts were spread to  such a blessing!    SEE BELOW FOR PICS

Christmas In Bulgaria 2006

Poetic Hours has just received this message from the Star of Hope charity which was sent following the Pringles collection -

We gave 74 Pringle tubes to the children at the orphanage in Dolno Draglishte as Christmas presents. As always the children were very excited to receive such gifts. The rest of the Pringles - 50, were donated for the children of prisoners in Sofia Prison.
There was a Christmas party in the prison for the prisoners, only the good ones as it is a special privilege and their families. Some of the wives and children had traveled for hours to visit their husbands and fathers. This is an event which everybody had been waiting for a long time. The party was organized by the pastor of the prison who is a good friend of ours, together with the Social Department of the prison.

That is all for now. Thank you once again for your friendship - it is very precious to us! And we are always happy to receive news
from you!
